About

Kevin moved from his native town of Bognor Regis with a burning ambition to become a successful stand up comic and instantly gained critical recognition, being a finalist in both the Laughing Horse New act of the Year and Krater New Act of the Year competitions (2002).

Hailed as one of the funniest and nicest blokes you could meet, Kevin quickly became, and remains, a regular performer at professional comedy clubs on the UK circuit. In 2009 he was asked to perform support slots for if.comeddies nominees, Mickey Flanagan and Ivan Brackenbury on their national tours.

Kevin has also enjoyed success at the Edinburgh comedy festival and 2013 saw  his fourth solo show “Confess Nothing”. Kevin has been honing his skills at the fringe since his debut show “Comics Die in Hot Cars” (2006), developing his writing style with two more successful follow-up shows “Caronicle” (2011) and “Thus Spoke Kev” (2012). Kevin combines a witty, light hearted and often lyrical style of storytelling with laugh-out-loud punchlines and a charming onstage persona.

As well as performing his own solo shows, Kevin is a sought after director, working with many popular festival favourites. The eclectic mix of performers Kevin has directed includes Zoe Lyons, John Hastings, Rob Collins, Julian Deane, Joey Page, Stuart Mitchell, Matt Price and Ian Smith.

Kevin has also written for BBC television (CBBC F1 Red Button coverage) and Radio 2 (Hot Gossip with Claudia Winkleman).

‘Brilliantly observed, quite touching…Really demonstrates his eye for a well crafted turn of phrase, colouring it with nimble vocabulary. ’  The Skinny

‘You’ll leave with a smile on your face and maybe a tear in your eye’  Fest

‘He then gave way to Kevin Shepherd, who packed the next 20 or so minutes with as many jokes as some comedians manage in an hour. He switched between anecdotal and punchline based humour with ease, and left us eager for more.’ BBC Lincolnshire.

‘Very Funny, did a tough gig in Torquay the other night and was a pleasure mainly due to this man’s professional compering skills. Warm, friendly and fun to watch. I’d say in the next couple of years he’ll be Mc’ing the big venues and you won’t be able to afford him, so book him now.’  Jason Manford. Channel 4.

“Kevin Shepherd is a charismatic young man with a sharp wit and cheeky humour the audience was taunted, with varying degrees of force. But only the faint-hearted or excessively squeamish failed to warm to such an amiable battering, and, after all, audience involvement is what stand-up is all about.”  Bahrain Extra. Bahrain.

“Assured stage presence, deadpan delivery and good gags.” Last Laugh. Sheffield.
